Thoughts from Class of 1978

As we, the graduating seniors of 1978, spend our last few days in high school, we find ourselves looking back on the last 12 years we have spent here; and it seems that some thank you's are in order.

Thank you first of all, Mom and Dad.  You were behind us when no one else was.  You made us pick ourselves up and keep trying until we got it right.  You taught us to make our own decisions and to stand behind them after they were made, no matter what.  You taught us independence.

Thank you, Teachers.  Twelve years ago we were your new recruits.  You taught us time and time again, everything that we would need to know in the word that lies beyond the Senior level in high school.  Although you didn't always receive the credit that you deserved, you at least had the satisfaction of knowing that when we left, we took a part of your teaching with us.  You taught us to depend on someone.

Thank you, last of all, to all our classmates and friends.  You have made these last years all worthwhile.  You have worked with us and beside us, and we depended on each other to get us by.  We shared everything from pencils and paper to secrets and experiences.  It didn't matter if we went through good times, bad times, happy or sad, we went through it together and we almost always came out on top; but a least we were together.

Thanks, you guys, you taught us the true meaning of friendship
