OBITUARY
Lois Loretta Johnson Webster

1930 - 2020

Lois Loretta Webster, claimed the promise of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when she entered into eternal rest on this day: May 25, 2020.

Lois was the sixth child born to Charles and Marie (Busse) Johnson on June 14, 1930 in Pender, Nebraska. At the age of five, her family moved to where she grew up on the family farm west of Decatur, Nebraska. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1948 and worked as a telephone operator for NW Bell in Lyons, Nebraska. It was at this time she met the love of her life; Vic Webster and they danced their way from Sioux City, Iowa to Omaha, Nebraska. Six months later Vic proposed to Lois.

Lois and Vic were married on November 27, 1949 in Decatur.  Lois worked for Prucka Transportation as a filing secretary, the Mead Ordinance Plant packing ammunition, and they owned the Decatur Produce in the late 1950s. They were blessed with two daughters and she devoted her life fully to her husband and family, while living in many places throughout Minnesota, Kansas, Arizona and Nebraska.  Lois loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and enjoyed socializing with their friends. She was a member of the Decatur Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Eastern Star.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Vic (2002); brothers, Melvin Johnson, Vernon Johnson (Frances); sisters, Maxine Ferguson (Bert), Christine Reiger (Ed) and Doris Ferguson.      I worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company after graduation from high school.   Later on my employment included Prucka Transportationn in Omaha, NE, and the Mead Ordinance Plant in Mead, NE.  By the time our first-born arrived in 1951, I began my biggest challenge of being a full-time homemaker.  Time flew, and before I knew it our daughters were grown.

Vic and I had a wonderful vacation in Hawaii to celebrate our 25th anniversary.  There were 12 couples from Lyons-Decatur area who accompanied us and we had an absolutely great time.  We will always remember Forrest Penny and his dog that tagged along with he and Irma wherever they went (ha!)  We have taken many trips since then, mostly in the southwestern states.

Pamela is an Executive Secretary for the State of Arizona, currently working in Phoenix at a woman's prison.  Charlene has been a medical transcriptionist at one of the hospitals in Phoenix until their recent move to Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

About 10 years ago, Vic and I began a new challenge of caring of our grandson, Ryan, age 13.  He is now 23, attending college at Dana, and proud father himself of little Blake Alexander, age 1.  My hobbies are shopping, watching "Husker" football, and taking care of our great-grandson, Blake.
